Head up a centralised tax operations team looking after multiple business units within the Group offering a multitude of different investment products.Business units and product offerings include: Stockbroking, Life insurance, Unitised funds, Private Equity, Hedge funds, Personal share portfolios.Tax types within scope include: Withholding taxes, FATCA and CRS, Capital Gains tax, Income tax, Securities Transfer Tax and cost processing of complex corporate actions.A large part of my role involves electronic data submissions to the relevant authorities which requires deep understanding of the portfolio management system feeding the reporting process and producing files in the business requirement specification.My role includes client facing operations (statements and tax certificates), ensuring tax compliance across all tax types with the revenue authorities as well as operational and back end system management responsibilities (design of processes and streamline of existing processes across all business units and multiple systems).

I am currently on a temporary transfer secondment from PwC to the Group Tax Division of Momentum Group Limited. My responsibilities revolve specifically around the following: - Dividends tax calculations and compliance in BRS format - Life Insurance tax and assisting in preparation of components of the final life tax calculation - Partnership and Trust Tax - Income Tax compliance and tax accounting - Capital Gains Tax calculations and systems testingThe scope of work includes work within the Life insurance company and work relating to subsidiaries within the Momentum Group.

I am currently in PwC's Corporate Tax Graduate Training program. I was placed in the Financial services division and therefore my client list consists of all of South Africa's Big four banks, short term and life insurance companies and financial institutions such as asset management and investment firms. Responsibilites involve tax compliance, pre-issuance, tax audit, Sarbanes-Oxley Audit (SEC clients), tax opinion writing and tax function effectiveness (TFE) work.

I was the consultant responsible for developing the Corporate Tax Learning Material for the Eskom Back to Basics project. It involved developing process based learning guides and e-learning assessments for the Corporate Tax division of Eskom based on developed PCM's. We were responsible for ensuring that tax was correctly included and integrated into the training material across all workstreams involved.
