Future Networks Technology Build Engineer
CurrentAccountable for the field process design and configuration of the technology implementation and on site specification of the LCNF Tier 2 CLASS project.Accountable for ensuring that the field processes and configuration components of the solution are adequately tested and fit for purpose. Accountable for supporting/providing training in the field processes and system usage of the CLASS solution.Accountable for supporting/providing post go live support to the field engineers and teams.Accountable for providing expertise to the various suppliers and other members of the project on all field aspects of CLASS.The CLASS accountabilities require that I have the skills to engage with field engineers to ensure strong buy-in of CLASS and have sufficient commercial acumen to engage with suppliers in a contractual environment. In addition it requires self motivation, the ability to work to deadlines, organisational and prioritising skills.Due to the nature of a Tier 2 (£9M) project the ability to deal with conflict and have excellent interpersonal and presentational skills is essential. CLASS required the ability to turn a complex high level Ofgem ‘bid’ document into a working solution that was agreed and delivered by various internal and external project partners; National Grid, Siemens, Nortec, Alstom, Manchester University, ENWL Telecontrol Software and Hardware support, DSMC control/outage planning engineers and Field engineers. The CLASS Technology Build role requires deep and broad engineering experience of field based operations, protection and control. This is demonstrated by a detailed technical understanding of field codes of practice, process and tools.This role primarily delivers the LCNF Tier 2 CLASS project. Additional support and technical advice has also been provided to C2C, Smart Street and other Future Networks projects.Interface Sites.
