I care about people and their ability to grow. To that end, I thrive off of opportunities to really delve into designing learning opportunities. I'm constantly revisiting and revising - always wondering if my approach is meeting the learner where they're at. This is where collaboration plays a big role. Nothing thrills me more than to bounce ideas off of colleagues and generate a truly meaningful and effective learning opportunity as part of a team.At the same time, I can also get really into the zone focusing my attention on the details of the final product. There's something to be said about a neat, well-formatted, and polished presentation, and I strive to put forth only the best. Nothing can disrupt engagement like instruction that feels rushed or cobbled together; if I expect the best of my learners, then I need to put forth my best instruction.I consider myself a lifelong learner. I make every effort to model the sense of wonder and inquisitiveness I expect of learners through my own actions. After working with high school students for a decade, I'm looking to transition to opportunities beyond the K-12 classroom. I want to continue to develop learning opportunities and help individuals reach their potential, but also further develop myself and my skill set professionally.
