I have been in manufacturing now for over 35yrs. I may not have the education which is required for most Engineering positions but I can perform most duties required for Engineering positions. I started in the shop learning how to run manual machines to machine parts and use measuring devices. I then transferred over to CNC machines where I learned to program the machines by hand with no CAM. I did this for many years until I began to learn how to use EdgeCam. I was then moved into the Engineering office to do processing and programming for over 20 machines in the shop. Helped other engineers in the office a great deal with fixturing and tooling ideas and design. I worked in that engineering office for around 12 yrs. I worked closely with our customers such as forging, casting and heat treat companies. Owner of the company then sent me to school to obtain my Six Sigma Black Belt Certificate where I did a few successful projects.When I was hired at Sandvik I started out selling the tools that I knew so much about. I was successful in this position because of how I was able to Problem Solve and troubleshoot the issues the customer was having with their process. I eventually took a position with Sandvik in the Engineering department where here I went back to processing and programming parts for our customers. Here I did tool selection and then with the tools I could use MasterCam to program the machine if the customer needed help with that. I have experience in machining all grades of gray iron, ductile iron, steel, stainless steel and heat resistant alloys. I feel that my manufacturing experience in the engineering field would be a plus to any company looking for someone who has had his hands in just about everything in the manufacturing field.I have MasterCam experience and also deal with solid models, I have not used EdgeCam in a while but I am sure it would not take much for me to get back to using it again. Most CAD CAM softwares are close in how they are used. I love to learn and am a quick to learn new things. I am a strong team player who has no issues voicing his opinion in meetings. I am great at presenting to senior management or to customers as needed. I am confident in the knowledge that I have when it comes to machining, the use of tools, programming etc.
