Stephen Walker has taught English in South Korea since 2000. He has a BA in Journalism / MassCommunications and an MA in TESOL. He learned the ropes of teaching English as a foreign language at Hoseo University, where he is still currently employed as a member of the English Department. He also taught Economics through English at The Technical University of Liberec in The Czech Republic. Prior to his teaching career in Asia and Europe, he worked in television news and production for three years after university. In 1997, he joined The U.S. Peace Corps and was a natural resource volunteer in The Gambia, West Africa. He has written two ESL/EFL textbooks: Tell Me About It! & Think About It!Tell Me About It! is designed to create curiosity about the world we live in. If used in the classroom, each student will choose a country of interest, research pertinent information, share it in class and finally present their findings in front of the class alongside a Power Point presentation. If they want to take the next step and actually travel to the country of their choice, they will already have a good idea of what to expect, where to go, and how to behave as they enjoy a new country and culture. All four skills: reading, writing, listening and speaking are used in each and every unit.Think About It! is designed to create deeper thought and curiosity about the world in which we live. If used in the classroom, students can use all four skills as they read about a myriad of topics that are not often covered in the mainstream media outlets. Students will test their comprehension and conversational abilities as they dive into each unit.
