I joined Vann Systems (later taken over by Halliburton), when Tubing Conveyed Perforating was relatively new to the UK. Initially based in Aberdeen I worked offshore in the North Sea and Africa. I later helped open a new base at Great Yarmouth. At one stage I believe I was responsible for running the longest ever string of guns in the North Sea.

Following initial training in Bolivia, delivering cementing, stimulation, coiled tubing, liquid nitrogen and well testing services, in West Africa.

A year travelling through Saudi Arabia, as part of a Geophysical Field Crew, measuring the depth of the water table in the Eastern Province.
