Portus was sold to Aon and my role from date of acquisition was to assist with the successful integration of the Portus business into the Aon infrastructure.

As Commercial Director, I was responsible for the management and development of Portus Online which included our Flexible Benefits and overall Online proposition. In addition, I was responsible for the on-going development of our pensions proposition and overall pricing.My primary focus was to continually develop and keep the Portus proposition as market leading.Our latest development was an online retirement and savings planning portal RetirePort which was independently reviewed and judged as way ahead of many of its competitors.

As Head of Defined Contribution (DC) for Alexander Forbes (now JLT Benefit Solutions) in the UK, my primary focus was to redesign the existing proposition to the extent that it would become both market leading and RDR compliant. As an EXCO member with full P&L responsibility, I was responsible for the development and management of the overall DC value proposition including:• Product and Service development. • Pricing• RDR Compliance• Management of The Annuity Bureau• Sales and Marketing• Internal Training• Operations• Technology• Managing provider relationshipsPrior to joining Alexander Forbes, I worked in South Africa which included a board position with Glenrand MIB Benefit Services and Managing Director of Fusionry, an employee benefits risk management Company which I set-up and managed before returning to the UK.Although my previous role was very much DC focused, I have spent the majority of my career consulting with large international companies across all employee benefits and territories.

South Africa

I was recruited to set-up a new employee benefits risk company on behalf of Glenrand MIB and Hollard Insurance, to compete in the growing risk financing market. The company was quickly successful and secured major international clients. Responsibilities included:• The set up and day to day management of the business• Creation and implementation of business plans• Cross-sell into the two major corporate shareholders• Overall financial management• Sales and marketing• New Business growth• Product and service design• Management and achievement of shareholder expectations• Compilation and presentation of board reports and management accounts

I was appointed to the board to take-over responsibility for marketing and new business.
