Successes:CSC: Appointed 2IC of National Virtualisation Team.Woodside: Worked with some talented individuals to Design/Deliver the vSphere 5 Metro Cloud and Geographical Virtual Datacentres. Assist with Design Considerations (Best Practice), Project Management and lead the Implementation of vSphere 5, Clustered Recourses, Site Recovery, Security and the writing of Technical Design, Governance and Build documentation. Success was measured on the realisation that an internal Cloud could provide enhanced Business Continuity, Elasticity and Tiered Infrastructure to support the Criticality of Business Applications.

Successes:HBF: Designed, Delivered and Project Managed the implementation of vSphere 4.0 U2. The success was measured against the 100% uptime of all business critical applications/services despite the challenges faced with limited functionality of VMotion, HA, DRS, EVC and DataStores effected by SNAPSHOTS. These challengers have since been resolved by introducing VMware Best Practices, Host Profiles and a review of all Host Groups and LUN ID's presented by the SAN. The migration was highly commended and successfully singed off with a Health Check conducted by VMware.Ajilon: Awarded Presentation of the Quarter for “Virtualisation – A Potential Ajilon Service Offering”. Based on previous implementations of VMware’s Virtualisation Platform, recent successes with HBF’s Virtualiasion of Business Critical Applications, and Ajilons capability moving forward in the Managed Services space.

Successes:In conjunction with the vSphere 4.0 Virtual Infrastructure upgrade, I had conducted a self initiated detailed analysis of the current architecture highlighting the number of ESX Hosts vs Memory Consumption. With each ESX Hosts CPU performance peaking at 4%, a limitation of 16Gb RAM and with future forecasts to Virtualise 90% of the server fleet, I put forth a business case to reduce the number of Hosts while also increasing memory capacity. With the business case demonstrating savings around licensing, hardware and power consumption from within the Data Center, I was provided with Architectural approval to implement the appropriate changes.
