From a young age, I had an interest in the law. I worked towards a B.S. in Economics with a minor in English at the Ohio State University knowing that I would eventually attend law school. After my junior year of college, I took advantage of Ohio State's summer pre-law program at Oxford University in England, learning about the Anglo-American legal system. Upon graduation with honors in the arts and sciences and cum laude,I was accepted to and enrolled in the Capital University Law School. While in law school, it became clear to me that I had an interest in criminal law. I accepted a position with the Columbus City Attorney's Office, working as an intake officer. In this role, I assisted prosecutors with the evaluation and filing of criminal charges, interviewing victims and witnesses. I graduated from Capital in 2008.Upon passing the Ohio State bar exam in 2008, I was hired by a small, general practice firm in Columbus, Christopher M. Cooper Co., LPA (later renamed Cooper & Pennington Co., LPA). As an associate, I was in charge of the firm's special counsel to the Ohio Attorney General section, representing various state agencies in collections and bankruptcy. In addition, I carried a large criminal defense caseload, represented individuals in Chapters 7 and 13 bankruptcy, assisted with civil and probate matters, and served as second chair in numerous criminal trials.In 2013, I felt that I had gained enough experience to open my own law firm. First known as Wolfe Van Wey & Associates, LLC, I started my own firm focusing in criminal defense. Though the firm was later renamed Wolfe Law Group, LLC, in 2016, the mission has remained the same - to provide vigorous defense to those accused of crimes throughout the state of Ohio. I am licensed in the State of Ohio, Southern District of Ohio, and Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals, and have practiced extensively in each. I am Rule 20 (Death Penatly) certified and a member of the CJA panel. I served in various roles on the Ohio State Bar Association's Criminal Justice Committee, including Secretary and Vice Chair.In addition to practicing law, I have run a small law office since 2013, handling budgeting, billing, and overhead for a firm of up to 3 attorneys and support staff. My attention to detail has allowed the firm to thrive, going from a one room office in 2013 to a large, multi-space office complex with up to 5 employees.I am married to another attorney, Katherine Wolfe, who works as an assistant prosecutor with the Franklin County Prosecutor's Office. We have a son, Thomas, two dogs, and two cats.
