My role focused on supporting the extended finance team at Monash University get the most out of SAP FI and related financial systems across areas such as reporting, budgeting & forecasting, business processes, compliance etc. The needs of finance users at Monash are extremely diverse and my role was at the forefront of finding and implementing solutions to meet those needs. The role involves gathering requirements, analysing and assessing options, designing and implementing solutions and then supporting them on an ongoing basis. Another major part of my role is to design and spec interfaces between third party applications and SAP. This requires an understanding of the third party system and the requirements of the interfaces, i.e. the data that it is sending/receiving and how the data is being sent or expected to be received and of course the needs of the business. This has given me wide exposure to technologies such as API's and Web Services and has allowed me to work with developers outside of the SAP space and gain an understanding of integration technologies such as Mulesoft.My SAP expertise runs across these modules:FI (G/L, A/P, A/R, Asset Accounting)CO (Cost Centre Accounting, PCA)TRM (Money Markets)MM (Purchasing)PS-FM (Funds Management)Project SystemsI have designed SAP integration for the following non-SAP Systems:Concur Expense ManagementConcur TravelCognos TM1Copua (P2P)and for various other systems such as Point Of Sales and Motor Vehicle Pool Hire.I have been heavily involved in numerous major SAP upgrades and been responsible for many implementations of new functionality across various SAP modules.

As a certified MYOB consultant, I worked with small business owners & operators to assist them in improving their accounting systems & processes. This could be installing and setting up MYOB and thentraining them to use it effectively, or taking on the bookkeeping tasks myself from data entry all the way through to BAS lodgment.During this time I built up a portfolio of regular bookkeeping clients and provided MYOB based consulting and training services to numerous clients across varying industries and professions.
