As a Community Association we are working for the benefit of the residents living in the Coverdale and Newbank Neighbourhood and the wider community of Ardwick.Cup of Sugar Project The development and delivery of a community navigation scheme to work with older people on a one to one basis, develop a personalised action plan to address their needs, including: • Reduce social isolation and loneliness experienced buy older people to improve their well-being, • Financial inclusion activity to reduce poverty and help older people manage their money better, support them with welfare reforms and potential employment opportunities,• Promoting digital inclusion where possible with older people so that they develop their Basic On-line Skills and generate on-line savings,• Reducing fuel poverty by providing information, advice and guidance on energy efficiency, energy deals, recycle and re-use activity,• Promoting health eating and an active lifestyle by organising a range of community exercise classes, healthy cooking lessons and luncheon clubsDevelop a befriending and mentoring scheme by recruiting and supporting volunteers to provide support to older people to achieve the actions identified in their personal action plans.Develop and deliver a range of social group activities for older people so that they develop new friendships and networks.Support the development of an older peoples steering group that will help monitor and evaluate the project activities

The Youth Village Limited is a community enterprise that works with young individuals and adults who are unable to meet their financial demands due to family circumstances, unemployment, drugs misuse including alcohol or who have been involved in crime.The Youth Village Group works with local, national and international non-governmental organisation to provide access to world-class facilities and activities for the benefit of enhancing disadvantaged communities. We provide the foundation that offers a wide range of attractive options for communities to engage in positive and innovative activities. Our effective partnerships will ensure that key provisions are developed to provide the appropriate services that will enable us to generate the resources needed to be self-sustaining.Create a safe environment for extending the boundaries of health and social care provisions in facilities where young people and adults can enjoy being in an intergenerational environment for socialising, meeting new people from different cultural backgrounds and learn new life skills for community participation.Our infrastructure will guide the development and sustainability of the organisation for the management team to design the strategic plan that provides secondments, volunteers, full-time and part-time staff for running The Youth Village. They will all possess a proven track record and the experience in key roles necessary to fulfil their post. Where expertise is lacking specialists training will be provided to help build character, personal development and self esteem.Objectives• Deliver world class facilities driven by the active participation of disadvantaged young people and adults, their views and needs.• Provide an effective voice to influence decision makers by means of responsible representation and consequent responses to community consultations.

The Regional BME Policy Forum provides a platform for BME organisations in the North West to come together, make an impact on key decisions and campaign for change. It also provides a space where organisations can learn from each other.Participants collectively decide on priority issues to take forward and build on the North West's connections in order to speak to key decision-makers throughout the region and nationally. By advocating for BME communities and advising Government using the expertise, knowledge and experience of BME organisations in the North West, the forum can help to bring real long-term change to communities.

Facilitate the development of grass roots community groups through capacity building.Identify, develop and provide training packages for enabling community groups to learn from each other’s work and develop partnership.Engage with voluntary sector groups and statutory organisations representative to develop toolkits for community engagement.

Community group working with Trafford Borough Council on achieving their community cohesion remit to provide information, advice and capacity building services for supporting the development of the BME disadvantaged communities in Trafford.Key objectives and tasks:To co-ordinate activities and inform Voice of BME members and community groups through briefings and bulletins of the work of service providers in Trafford.To undertake administration and other tasks as appropriate, produce reports and monitoring data against agreed project outputs, milestone and outcomes, and to research important VCS policy and strategic developments. To help member organisation build links with public services providers and enhance access to infrastructure and capacity building support.To capacity, build existing networks of community groups in order to influence policies that help shape local regeneration, and public service agendas.

Building our Lives Together (B.O.L.T) was a not for profit community group, delivering performing arts and events management training for disadvantage community groups working with young people.We worked in partnership with the Local Authorities and community groups to provide services within the community for young people involve in guns, gangs and violence.

Self employed consultancy in events management working in the leisure industry with Public Houses and Night Clubs owners in Greater Manchester planning entertainment and activities for building customers relationships.Responsibilities also included advising Publicans on best practice of running a Public House. This also included the refurbishment of the premises, recruitment, training, development and retention of staff.

Community research project to identify gaps, access, and barriers to provision of young people services. We worked with young people local youth projects regional and national organisations to identify why youths were getting involved in guns, gangs and crime.

I started working here at the age sixteen on a twelve month Youth Training Scheme. This led to full time employment once the training was over. After 5 years, I gain promotion to 1978.My responsibilities included transport management and the distribution of scaffolding to building sites in Greater Manchester and the North West. Other duties included liaising with suppliers, manufacturers and other SGB Depots regionally and nationally for stock transfer and acquiring new stock. I was also responsible for the recruitment, training and staff development.
