As a Resident Advisor at University of Massachusetts Lowell I worked as part of a team to run a suite style residents hall. For this I underwent training for mental health first aid certification, incident report writing, residential engagement, as well as how to handle incidents ranging from a noise complaint to Title 9 incidents. This also required a background check as this roll requires access to sensitive personal information of the residents through a program called StarRez and access to the keys to the entire building. As a Resident Advisor I perform duty shifts, where I would be responsible for the building for 12 and 24 long shifts that I am given the building phone for, checking suites for fire, health, and safety hazards, and we were responsible for the part of the building that I was living in (this contained about 40 residents). Being responsible for the part of the building included running events, checking in with the residents, and sharing and putting up bulletin boards with information that I was given from my supervisor. I was also able to do shifts at the security desk in the lobby of the building, where I would help to sign in guests.

While working at Home Depot, I initially worked as a cashier. In this role I worked with customers constantly, helping them check out as well as attempting to answer any questions that I could or contact a coworker who could help them more in that department. While working as a cashier I spoke with my manager about possibly getting more hours and they allowed me to train to work in the tool rental part of the store. While working is this part of the store I worked along side my coworkers to help answer questions about the tools, machines, and vehicles that we would rent out, show customers how to use and run them, fuel them up when they went out, and in a few instances work to repair or put together them. This would be done while using a different system than normally used by cashiers and allowed us to make contracts for the rented out tools, machines, and vehicles. This would also require additional software training to process returns.
