Field Service Engineer
I install, commission, and perform maintenance on ultrasonic flow meters and their associated electronics at nuclear power plants around the world. I also assist customers remotely in diagnosing and fixing problems at their plants.
Field Engineer
I began my career in Halliburton’s Production Enhancement division as a field engineer, where I traveled extensively throughout the Northeast to a multitude of well sites with my mentor. It was challenging at first since I knew little about the oil and gas industry, but I was the first of my hire group to set out on his own; and upon passing comprehensive training courses, engineering exams, and presenting an entire job design to my department, I was promoted. As a field engineer, I sought to make notable changes within the company. I noticed the final documentation that all engineers send to the customers upon completion of a well lacked professionalism, with many having missing or blatantly incorrect data. I brought this up to the engineering manager, and we created a review team with me as the leader. Shortly after, we received positive feedback from our customers, stating that the recent reports were vastly improved in accuracy and professionalism.Because of this positive response, my manager selected me to be one of the first lead crew engineers. In this capacity, I served over all of the Halliburton crews for one of our biggest clients. This was a test for Halliburton by having engineers train crew members to run the main stimulation program and create basic reports after each completed stage on a well. Within a month, I had crew members on each shift completely trained up and continued to provide them with 24/7 support. This proved to be successful and allowed us to mimic the setup for other crews, freeing up engineers to handle other tasks.Having proven myself to be innovative, I was one of twelve employees from North America invited to our headquarters in Houston, TX to work on the next generation of our main stimulation program. The goal was to fully integrate as much as possible with the program and work on future-proofing it.Having created and implemented successful new ideas, I am ready to turn my sights toward new challenges.
Engineer
Upon graduating Penn State with an engineering degree, I was hired as a full-time engineer at Murtech due to my outstanding image with the company and dedicated work habits showcased during my internship. As an engineer, I was an integral part of almost every company program and project. In addition to the activities mentioned in my internship below, I was heavily involved in the following:• Extensive CAD modeling with 3D printing/prototyping• Engineering and drafting design• Technical report preparation• Updating a comprehensive CBRNE equipment database including hundreds of items• Writing, researching, and submitting proposals for contracts• Cost evaluation and budgeting• Project planning and evaluation• Performing equipment maintenance
Engineer Internship
I first started my career at Murtech between my graduation from high school and my freshman year at Penn State. I was hired as an intern and worked over every summer and winter break of college, assisting with various company projects and research assignments. My tasks mainly involved:• 2D and 3D CAD modeling• Assisting with the assembly and testing of Department of Defense CBRNE detection devices• Researching engineering concepts• Product testing and evaluation• Production assistance
