Mr. Austin has thirty years experience in industrial energy, automation, and utility optimization. He is Managing Director of TenXTL LLC, an independent energy and utility consulting company focusing on industrial and large commercial end-users and energy service providers. Prior to cofounding the company, he was Manager Engineering for Schneider Electric where he directed implementation of the Industrial Energy Efficiency initiative in North America. Before that, he was Managing Partner of the Foresight Group, an energy engineering company concentrating on utility optimization project implementation. He was Principal Engineer for Glaxo Wellcome, a $40B international pharmaceutical manufacturing company where he directed energy efficient design and project engineering for the corporation. He also worked for Carolina Power & Light, a Fortune 250 utility, preparing and conducting complex energy studies for industrial customers throughout the Southeast US. Mr. Austin has a Bachelor’s Degree and Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from N.C. State University. He is a registered Professional Engineer in multiple states and is a member of ASHRAE. He is the author of a number of trade journal publications, an inventor, and an instructor for national engineering short courses.
