Head of Future Retailing at Northern, with responsibility for modernising the way we sell tickets and travel to our customers. We are increasingly using emerging technologies to make the process of buying tickets easier and more convenient.Northern has 4,900 employees providing nearly 2500 local and regional train services every weekday, making us the largest train operator in the UK.We run trains across the north of England, serving a population of nearly 15 million.We lease over 300 trains, and they call at over 500 stations (approximately 20% of all UK railway stations), of which we manage 462.I joined the public transport industry in 2000, when I worked for Merseytravel, the Passenger Transport Executive for Merseyside. During my time at Merseytravel I worked with Train Operating Companies on financial and operational compliance issues.I joined Northern shortly after its formation in 2004, initially as Revenue Development Manager.
