I am the Deputy Head of Knowledge and Libraries (Learning & Teaching) for one of the largest NHS trusts in the UK. As such I have responsibility to plan, develop, provide and monitor library and learning technology services for all learners and educators at University Hospitals Sussex (UHSussex). This includes all students and staff of Brighton and Sussex Medical School (BSMS) and other partner higher education institutions (HEIs). To lead on provision of teaching, training and induction across the Knowledge and Libraries team; developing strategy, maintaining quality and innovation, and reporting to stakeholders. To oversee our enquiry desk team and our libraries (physical spaces), and to co-ordinate with library managers at other NHS and Higher Education libraries that support the medical school. To develop and co-ordinate the digital strategy for BSMS, working in collaboration with the Academic Digital Learning Lead, and be responsible for the UHSussex learning management system and learning technology service. I am a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (HEA) and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals (CILIP). I present nationally and internationally on various information-based topics including E-learning, Plagiarism, and the role and image of Librarians.Specialities: Strategic Libraries Management, Copyright, Plagiarism and Academic Standards, Rare and Historical Materials, E-learning, Open Access, and the role and image of The Librarian.
