Proprietor of SC&A Editorial Media and Design. Specialising in editorial design - magazines, annual reports, newsletters, brochures, flyers, information graphics, exhibition stands, and design for the Internet - websites, html emails, blogs. With a network of associates and associated companies also offers writing, editing, video, photography, marketing and PR services.

Deputy to Managing Editor Martin King in WP's WP-Link division. We franchised template supplements round the entire newspaper group. The flagship product was Travellers' Guide - a travel magazine. I also wrote articles and took photographs for the publications. When WP-Link was closed, a year after it was launched, I collaborated with assistant editor Alex Johnson and we continued to supply Travel, Finance, Sport and Fashion supplements to the WP Group as joint editors ... until parent Company Pearson sold the group to Newsquest.

Starting on my own as THE editorial graphics person, I developed the style and provision of graphics within the newspaper titles - also building the department to be a three-man team. I pioneered desktop publishing at York & County Press and our team were the first to use a desktop colour scanner and have the image reproduced in the newspaper. I was awarded the Don Wilkinson Sabbatical Award for outstanding contributions to York & County Press - which I used to attend a week-long information graphics course led by renowned infographics Guru Nigel Holmes,at Rhode island School of Design in 1992. Also won Editorial Artist of the year twice in the Yorkshire Newspaper Awards.

From leaving College I worked at Leeds as a Regional Station Assistant. Duties included operating grams desks, research, graphics, design assistance, floor management and stage management on Look North and opt-out programmes including Gardeners' Direct Line and Northern Lights. Spent some months in Manchester as a Graphics Assistant on network programmes including Cheggers Plays Pop, Question of Sport and No Limits. Then returned to Leeds as an RSA and spent some time as Acting Designer North for the station.
