Taught engineering design, basic robotics, 3D printing, 3D modeling, and programming microcontrollers. Completed Google Educator Level 1 & 2 and MakerBot Level 1 & 2 certifications.

Stephen performed business development activities in the U.S. offshore wind market and business development and market analysis for a pipeline of utility-scale solar opportunities (community solar). He developed and maintained vendor relationships with equipment suppliers, contractors, and technical consultants.

Stephen prepared design layouts and permitting drawings, established engineering processes, prepared in-house software tools for solar resource analysis, and provided engineering support for a pipeline of residential, solar photovoltaic (PV) projects.

Stephen joined as a founding employee to develop innovative renewable energy projects, studying and identified opportunities for offshore wind development in the Mid-Atlantic region. He prepared investor and project materials for a 200 MW ($1B+) commercial offshore wind energy project in Maryland. Stephen participated in international search for development funding and led the proposal preparation of an innovative 18 MW ($100M+) floating offshore wind project in a strategic market. Stephen managed consultant work product in support of project analyses and proposal development, and prepared development budgets and schedules.

Stephen joined core members of the Bluewater Wind team in identifying the next project opportunities in U.S. offshore wind energy.

Stephen supported the technical efforts of this leading offshore wind energy developer’s multi-project portfolio, with a 3,000MW+ pipeline of projects in Delaware, New Jersey, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and the Great Lakes. Tasks included project management and preparation of development and construction schedules, technical communication, proposal drafting/editing, preparation of presentations, and technical-based market analysis. He reviewed geosciences vendor work product and meteorological data collection facility installation plans. Stephen also completed an extensive analysis of installation vessel logistics for construction of U.S. projects, including a review of international vessel market, and detailed review of implications of U.S. maritime law (Jones Act). Stephen also developed project site models and in‐house project mapping tools and procedures. Stephen was part of the team that secured acquisition by NRG Energy in 2009, and supported technical aspects of the application and due diligence process for a DOE loan guarantee. Bluewater secured the first offshore wind power purchase agreement (PPA) in the United States, Minerals Management Service (MMS, now BOEM) site control for 96,000 acres, and a PJM electrical grid interconnection agreement for 450MW.
