I moved over to IBM in April 2011, after 5 years as a data centre engineer on the BOI contract. I provided raised floor management support for 8 data centres, hosting 23 clients across Ireland. I work closely with the service management team providing DC Technical leadership on 9 of the accounts. During my time in IBM, I have delivered on various projects ranging from a two-rack solution to a large scale data centre migration of over 300 racks. I also provide technical solutions for new projects which include pricing, design, planning and installation. Car Rental Client Pre contract screening of Internal IT Infrastructure and data rooms. I provided a 14-rack solution for their primary hosted site. Following the successful delivery of the project, the customer has approached IBM and requested a similar design for their main headquarters in swords.

Based on their production site and covering a secondary DR site, I provided day-to-day raised floor management in a 24-7-365 enterprise-level data centre maintaining real-time data centre monitoring, dashboard reporting, vendor interface and change control processes. Responsible for delivery of capacity management and forecasting requirements based on business needs and the IT infrastructure. Participate in strategy and planning activities, processes, and best practices related to business requirements. Responsibilities: - Responsible for primary and secondary data centre sites.- Data centre technical lead on projects.- Liaise with various competencies and 3rd party installers.- Attend weekly governance meetings with BOI.- Provide sign off documentation for each project.- Logistics.- Data Centre reporting – Cooling, power, humidity etc- Change Management- Incident Management

As technical project lead I had primary responsibility for defining, planning, tracking and managing the project. I was responsible for ensuring appropriate management of customer and supplier involvement throughout the life of the project. Throughout the project I had to manage project schedules, task details and utilise project management tools such as reports, tracking charts, checklists, and delegated tasks appropriately.Responsibilities: - Prepare project plan and obtain management approval.- Assure that all team members understand their roles and accept their responsibilities.- Analyse risk and instigate avoidance activities. - Establish contingency plans and identify trigger events and responsibility for initiating corrective action.- Track and report on progress to plan. Analyse the actual performance against the plan and make adjustments consistent with plan objectives.- Keep all stakeholders informed of progress and issues. - Manage change to preserve business plan commitments. Initiate Phase Review if objectives must change. - Provide input on the performance of project team members to their supervisors.

Responsibilities: - Provide 2nd Level support for AIB users.- System Admin – various windows operating systems e.g Win NT, Win XP- Problem logging, solving and escalation to higher support where required.- To assist with application upgrades and roll outs.- To maintain and service SLA’s.- Customer service through email, phone or desk side support.- To investigate and resolve customer issues- Liaise with other technical groups to solve issues- Provide RAS software and hardware support for remote users- Hardware and software supports for application users

Responsibilities: - Provide 3rd level support for executives and stock traders.- System Admin – various windows operating systems e.g Win NT, Win XP- Responsible for the network infrastructure within the building. - Responsible for DR testing at business continuity centre.- Problem logging, solving and escalation to higher support where required.- To assist with application upgrades and roll outs.- To maintain and service SLA’s.- Customer service through email, phone or desk side support.- To investigate and resolve customer issues- Liaise with other technical groups to solve issues- Cover 4 shift patterns- Responsible for daily backups- Hardware and software support for business applications e.g. Bloomberg

Responsibilities:- Purchasing hardware/software for customers- Responsible for logistics delivery and collection of items.- Booking in and out orders via D1 system.- Stock Audits.

Responsibilities:- Sole responsibility for the remote access build and setup of laptops for the bank executives and home users.- Break fix engineer for all the banks hardware covered including PC’s, Laptops, Servers and printers.- Responsible for call closures and hitting customers SLA’s.- Mobile Engineer for remote sites.- Responsible for stock allocation and replenishment of used items.
