Reporting to the General Counsel and managing a team of six lawyers in Scotland, Germany and Russia, I lead a team that supports KCAD's international drilling business.

Based in Athens, Greece, I supported Ocean Rig's ultra deep water drilling operations around the world.Principal responsibilities include:drafting, qualifying and negotiating drilling contracts with clients;managing disputes arising from those drilling contracts;negotiating high-value shipbuilding contracts;supporting the company's anti-bribery compliance programme.

As senior lawyer in a team of four, I work to support KCA DEUTAG's international drilling and drilling engineering business around the world.The main focus of my role is working with commercial colleagues in client-facing tendering and negotiating for high value contracts. This has exposed me to a variety of oil and gas companies from the super majors through national oil companies to small niche players. I authored and deliver around the world, a face-to-face anti-bribery compliance training programme.

• Preparing and negotiating contracts for the Company’s international drilling and engineering operations.• Managing high value legal claims, both in the UK and abroad, in conjunction with external counsel.• Running two strategic international M&A transactions with external counsel.• Preparing for the new UK anti-bribery legislation and responding to compliance questions from international colleagues. Authoring and delivering initial training programme both in the UK and abroad.• Restructuring an overseas subsidiary to comply with new local content legislation.• Negotiating and establishing a joint venture to enter a new market in North America.• Drafting and implementing new terms and conditions for the purchasing department including creating an appropriate user guide and training programme for use around the world.• Participating in the team of risk workshop facilitators helping countries work with risk management tools. Facilitated this process within the Nigerian and Norwegian businesses on location in Port Harcourt and Bergen respectively.• Providing internal training to colleagues on legal and contractual matters including the creation and delivery of a training product aimed at raising awareness of company’s contracting strategy across the breadth of the business internationally.• Organising and completing a tender for the provision of external legal services.• Managing relationships with external counsel in the UK and abroad.• Training a newly recruited junior lawyer.
