A highly motivated, reliable and experienced finance professional manager; having acquired a wide range of technical and managerial skills through 20+ years combined service at three different financial institutions - specifically a leading Financial Advisory company in Sydney, a major Insurance Company based in London (with European/Asian branches and US parent entity) and a "Big 4" Accounting firm in Sydney.In my current role I am wholly responsible for the operational finance, management reporting and group statutory reporting function of the ASX-listed company with over 30 subsidiaries (including AFSL entities) across branches in Australia, USA and Hong Kong. This is achieved through management of 16 staff members, reporting to the CEO and working closely alongside the Board of Directors and Executive Leadership group in formulating strategic objectives for the company. I am also responsible for presenting to the company's Audit, Risk & Compliance Committee, and was heavily involved during the IPO of the company in 2018, including preparation of the “Financial Information” section of the Prospectus. I became a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD) during 2022 and am currently Company Director of a number of subsidiaries within the Group.This follows my previous role where I was responsible for the operational finance function of the company, achieved through management of a team of 19 employees based throughout Europe. Over my career I have delivered enhanced, timelier financial information and processes to the business which significantly improved a number of the companies’ KPIs including expense ratio, cash flow management, credit control and business planning/forecasting cycles.I have also been a key player in the merger of related entities and restructuring of Finance teams – providing new business processes, updated team hierarchies and relevant job descriptions.Colleagues know me as a manager with a keen eye for detail, who leads by example and is always available to get involved in helping staff members when required. I encourage an open, honest communication channel within the team; firstly listening to the ideas/concerns of my team before suggesting a measured and informed approach.I believe this creates a level of respect within the team and allows individual empowerment and responsibility.
