With more than thirty years of extensive UK and global architectural experience Stephen has played leading design roles at prominent architectural businesses including SOM, Squire + Partners, PRP Architects and more recently as Design Practice Principal UK Lead at Broadway Malyan in London. Work has included major projects across the UK, Europe, Middle East, Asia and China.Stephen focuses on design quality at all project stages from feasibility, concept and detailed design through to delivery. Our societies are facing unprecedented challenges and Stephen supports a design philosophy that aims to foster an approach that embraces high quality in an environmentally responsible manner. Recent research has included much needed and more radical ways of revisiting the design of residential typologies to address climate change as well as the coining of a new design movement called Enviro-Modernism. Stephen’s work covers all major residential sectors including high and low densities, high and low rise, masterplanning and regeneration, senior living and care, student living and build-to-rent in addition to the design of private houses. Other sectors include transport, hospitality, mixed use and workplace. He also focusses on detailed aspects of projects including the design of façade envelopes as well as interior design and landscaping. A primary focus on good design backed by extensive experience means that value is unlocked for all stakeholders. Notable high profile developments in London include the super prime residence at 199 Knightsbridge, the luxury Bvlgari Hotel in Knightsbridge and the Portobello Square residential regeneration scheme in Notting Hill and the high rise landmark residential towers in Canary Wharf. Other notable work includes the recent planning application for the Elizabeth Transport Terminal in St. Helier, Jersey.
