I have worked in high availability, high performance environments for the past 19 years and I do not see that slowing down. Every day presents a new challenge and I wake up every day ready to take on what's in store. Having worked in government-regulated 24x7x365 operation centers, I hold system up-time and reliability to the highest degree. There is no excuse for downtime, data loss, or any other factors that would cause a loss of customers, revenue, or both. In addition to systems-related skills, I have experience in managing teams in providing excellent customer service, while keeping employee moral high and a low turn-over rate. I believe that communication is key with all steps of planning, including allowing employees to retain individual ownership of their work and promoting self-expression with side projects and initiatives to tackle large problems. My particular skill set includes systems administration (Windows, Unix), networking (both WAN and LAN applications, with an interest in Cisco IOS), program development (Perl, PHP, Javascript) and database management (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, MSSQL). DevOps is at the core of what I do, and strive to ensure that tasks are scripted/automated where needed.I am a dual citizen of the United States and Canada, and can live/work in both without restriction.
