Principal Amplifier Engineer
Current- Determine technical direction of amplifier products (class-D amplifiers + switching power supplies), including associated DSP and control / monitoring firmware.- DSP projects: Improved NLMS filter for feedback elimination, adaptive neural network algorithms, intelligent power limiting, and created a library of standard DSP functions to serve as a foundation for projects moving forward.- CA amplifier series: Designed 4x1500W class-D amplifier and high power single-stage PFC switching power supply. Magnetics using highly optimised powder cores with triple insulated litz wire. Determined optimal relationship between amplifier and power supply switching frequencies to avoid in-band difference tones.- Modern layout and EMI practices that minimize design turnbacks during the system integration and approvals process (both in-band and out-of-band noise).- Magnetics design including shaped foil, litz wire, triple insulated litz wire, gapped ferrite cores, powdered iron cores, sendust cores.- Design of control and health monitoring systems for class-D amplifiers and switching power supplies.- Design experience with semiconductor devices including Si MOSFET / IGBT, SiC MOSFET, GaN MOSFET.
