In 2006, the Manchester assets of Kay Logistics were purchased by Wako Logistics Group (WLG). I fulfilled the same role in the new company, managing the Bermuda consolidation service. After many successful years handling the service, I was given the full responsibility of managing it. After a change of management and a mass walkout of staff, I was part of the rebuilding process that brought the Manchester office back in to profit. During this time, I fulfilled multiple roles – Air and Sea Imports, Logistics and Distribution, Warehouse Management.Key Achievements• Given full responsibility for my department• Successfully integrated a new operating software which was developed overseas, becoming the first UK company to use the software• Gained management experience• Managed our 42,000 sq ft warehouse on a temporary basis, successfully implementing one of the company’s largest new warehouse accounts• Gained accounting and budgeting experience• Handled multiple roles at the same time

First employment from college. Started under an apprenticeship scheme which I completed 12 months earlier than the target date. Was given the role of handling the day to day operation of the company’s Bermuda consolidation service. I was responsible for receiving bookings for both air and sea, organizing the loading of containers, customs clearance and arranging airfreight exports.
