I have unusually diverse experience having worked as a business manager across all areas of photography: fashion, art, commercial and photojournalism, with postings in Europe, USA and Japan. As an expert judge of photography I am often invited to review imagery for many applications, but more importantly my expertise lies in assessing the commercial applications of photography. Primarily this has meant creating commercial strategies for companies who use photography as a business driver, and I have also advised on specific communication strategies and other uses of intellectual property for corporations and public institutions.I have detailed knowledge of how intellectual property can be applied with special regard to copyright, trademark and ethical considerations. I have broad experience of managing creative projects from devising strategy and conceptualizing content, to origination of work and its distribution and application. I maintain balance between creative drivers and commercial imperatives, managing budgets and people to produce results within real business constraints.While I am happiest applying my skills to build strength for companies and institutions, I have also lent myself to solving problems and helping people who have run into legal problems with intellectual property or have difficulty with snarled communication strategies.
