I am an ICT Software Development Manager \ Senior Project Manager who currently manages a team of ICT engineers. I have over 26 years’ experience in IT, focusing on technology, solution design and development, project management, reporting and process improvement. When I started out in IT I completed my Diploma in Cobol Programming, but have since kept my skills and knowledge up to date by undergoing several upskilling programs including DevOps v2, VB and C#/ Asp.net, a Business Management Program through the University of Stellenbosch, PRINCE2 foundation & practitioner certified.As a manager I enjoy working with developers, mentoring and collaborating with them to come up with innovative solutions. I am a peoples’ person, so I really enjoy getting involved with people and teams, communicating and engaging with all stakeholders along the supply chain. I am responsible for project planning, resource planning and managing the development (PM) through the full SDLC using the Agile methodology and making use of best practice Project Management methodologies. Among other responsibilities I do performance appraisals/salary reviews, career development and mentoring of my team members- this includes technical coaching as well as soft skills related to performing the work.Over the course of my career, I have gained valuable knowledge across development languages, platforms and processes, project management methodologies and undertaken various highly complex projects and seen them through to a successful outcome. I have refined my management skills to get the best out of people, to encourage, guide and mentor people. I invest my time and energy to form a collaborative team that excels at what they do, through effective coaching, planning, quality control and engagement, and I feel that this is really where my strengths lie.
