Worked in the pre-paid debit card division were we managed, maintained the supported the card issuance and loads processes. We were also responsible for the maintenance of web applications used internally by client service representatives and externally by client and cardholder. My role included:● Developing solutions to unique client needs that did not exist in the current workflow ● Maintenance and support of the bulk load card issuance and load processes written in Java● Supervising an off-shore support team of 6 developers/analysts in troubleshooting and resolving issues in the process● SiteScope monitoring of our internal and external web applications to ensure consistent uptime inline of the established SLA’s

Worked on a team made up of a BSA, a tester and 3 Java developers; including myself, to convert VB applications into JSF web applications. My role included:● Leading the 2 developers in the coding of the JSF application● Working with the BSA to document requirements based on analysis of the existing VB applications● Working with the BSA and business users to verify and confirm requirements● Working with the tester to develop test cases● Developing models using IBM Rational Rose● Coding the UI and application layer using an MVC framework● Supervising the 2 developers on the business logic and data access coding using plain JDBC against a Microsoft SQL backend● Working with environment configuration experts to configure integration and test environments● Providing status reports to management● Integrating the completed JSF application into a client management system● Supporting the elevation of the completed product into production

Java DeveloperWorked on a team to develop a solution that will provide clients with on-demand access to policy and claim reports: A solution that would replace the manual copying, binding and mailing of hard-copy reports to clients. My responsibilities included: ● Developing a JSP user interface that would connect to a Hyperion BI server, authenticate a user and based on authorizations serve the user with a list of reports they have access to.● Installing and configuring an Apache Tomcat server locally and on the development and test servers● Working with the reporting specialists to fine tune the BI server configurations to achieve better throughput ASP, VBScript, VB, DeveloperAs a VB developer I worked on a number of projects with VB related projects to include● Developing a terrorism risk calculator with VB for accessing the company’s exposure to potential claims as a result of terrorism. The solution would integrate data from various sources and use third party tools to provide a graphical representation of the risk exposure ● Developing a VB process for creating test data used in application testing● Refactoring, with the objective of improving response time, the company’s Account Pricing ASP application; an application used to price client policies● Enhancing and supporting a VBScript process for automating the encryption and transfer of claim payable files to the bank for processing over FTP.● Supporting the policy and claims ASP application of a subsidiary owned by PMA. Role included working with the business users of the application to understand issues, troubleshooting the issues and implementing resolutions.ETL Process DeveloperDeveloped DataStage ETL and Microsoft SQL Server DTS processes in support of the company’s data warehouse, data marts and reporting interfaces. Also got involved in data modeling, with ERWIN in support of the development a premium data mart to be used by the risk department for risk analysis.
