Designed and completed a research project with Professor Dan Ardia that built on a long-running project about the behavior of forest mammals by evaluating the impacts of recreation on forest mammal habitat use. Planned distribution of game cameras for wildlife monitoring as part of a team, developed navigational skills using maps and GPS, identified.

Responsible for planning and leading weekly group study sessions to encourage students to build study skills. Promoted Quantitative and Science Center’s events and services in class and through creating flyers, t-shirts, and stickers that made the purpose of the center visually clear in a creative and eye-catching way. Conducted weekly individual tutoring.

Banff, Alberta, Canada

Conducted research with Professors Janet Fischer and Mark Olson studying changes in Alpine lake properties over time and with the influence of climate change. Presented findings at the Northeastern Ecology Conference. Hiked remote and steep mountain terrain on long collection days, took biotic and abiotic samples from alpine lakes, and used water quality.

Assisted with Professor Paul Harnik’s paleobiology research in the Gulf of Mexico as a research student. Sieved and sorted shell material collected from the seabed with a box core in order to analyze bivalve egg size.

Developed an energy-saving competition between college houses and served as a sustainability representative for my college house to bring composting to house events and coordinate outdoor activities. Created digital and paper advertisement designs, as well as a t-shirt design to promote sustainability events. Conceptualized and ran sustainable cooking.
