I lead AFT's Women for the Land initiative throughout New York state, facilitating farmers' efforts to implement sound conservation practices on their land and assist with land transition and beginning farmer resources. I work primarily in the Genesee River watershed and throughout western and central New York. In 2022, I successfully acquired a $350,000 grant to expand our network to include five new women-led farms representing over 5,000 acres.

My husband and I run a small, diversified organic farm specializing in heirloom vegetables, flowers, eggs, and free range chicken. We operate a self-serve roadside stand May through October offering vegetable seedlings and u-pick flowers. We also offer farm stays through Airbnb and host garden tours, workshops and events. Our dried flower studio, Tenderfoot Flora, offers hand made botanical art from August through January every year.

Rochester, New York Area

I coordinated 10 conservation districts throughout the Genesee River watershed implementing land use practices that improved the water quality of the Genesee. I focused on agricultural lands with direct technical assistance to cash crop and dairy farmers and rural landowners. I successfully acquired $700,000 in federal grants to expand and continue the work. We developed a GIS-based database to track our progress and assisted in creating a comprehensive Genesee River Watershed water quality implementation strategy with partners on the local, state, and federal levels..

While employed by the Lake Champlain Basin Program, I was appointed to an international study board to develop a plan to mitigate regional flooding. I assisted with drafting reports, which were approved by the US and Canadian federal governments. I also facilitated bi-lingual workgroup meetings, GIS and hydrologic data collection, and public engagement for the International Lake Champlain-Richelieu River Flood Response Workgroup.

I managed water quality grant funding in a multi-jurisdictional organization. I created RFPs, developed EPA certified quality assurance project plans, wrote technical reports and provided science-informed education & outreach to the public. I visualized complex data into consumable formats (infographics and fact sheets) using Adobe Creative Suite, and developed maps and GIS tools for partners (state and federal agencies, non-profits and consulting firms). I also managed the LCBP website and Opportunities for Action online and supervised interns.
