As the Outside Services Manager, I led a team of about 15 employees. Our role as a team was to provide top-end lot-to-lot service for our members. This meant adapting to certain members' needs and preferences, in order to make each trip to Mt. Hawley a memorable one.As supervisor, I was charged with scheduling our team, managing any member complaints about the staff, and assisting the professional staff in discipline, hiring, and termination decisions.

Hillsdale, Michigan

As sports editor, I was in charge of a three-person team, which produced the three sports pages of the weekly newspaper of Hillsdale College. This included curating and creating story ideas, assignment of stories, organization and communication with writers, pages layout using InDesign, and final editing. The entire staff of The Collegian took pride in the paper, which allowed us to rank as the fifth best college newspaper in the nation, according to The Princeton Review, despite printing on a campus of only 1,500 students.

Hillsdale, Michigan

I spent my four years at Hillsdale as part of the media team which live streamed football, volleyball, and basketball games, as well as lectures and programs delivered at the college. Beginning in my sophomore year, I took over the role of technical director and producer of football and basketball games. During this process I learned the ins and outs of a BroadcastPix switcher and I learned how to better manage and lead a team of nine-12 individuals.

I worked closely with Attorney Schierer on a variety of cases, including personal injury, family, and criminal. Working at a small firm provided me the opportunity to have hands-on experience, as I found myself writing motions and memorandums, talking to clients, and researching case law.

Pekin, Illinois

As an intern, I was responsible for the North Pekin beat, as well as any other stories which I could find or which an editor assigned to me. These stories included city proceedings, obituaries, event stories, profiles, and more. As the Pekin Daily Times was a small paper, I had the opportunity to work with my editors directly. This included not only their helping me with my work, but also my working on their stories, so as to give the people of Pekin and the surrounding area the best product possible.
