I have a history in Education and Training (management and delivery) and working in the NFP sector in Australia and have gravitated towards working with those on the margins of society because of the challenge and reward inherent in such work. It should be obvious then that I would choose to throw all of that away and become an organic farmer.... Well its a seemless career move from my perspective and there is a pressing need for education around sustainable living so who knows, education and training may be ome a focus to the future. With over 25 years experience in various education sectors, including mainstream secondary and tertiary, new arrivals to Australia, homeless/disengaged youth, I have spent the last 12+ years working in the field of Autism. I have had the great privilege of teaching both primary and secondary students with ASD over this time. As is usual with me, I eventually focused on working with adolescents/adults with attendant behavioural and psychological issues.I had a previous life as an actor/barman/waiter but had children and needed a real job (with an actual guaranteed wage), and so became a teacher. I then found myself involved in corporate, seminar and workplace training/presenting and have happily married these two skill sets by engaging in an interactive performance when training/teaching/presenting. I have allegedly garnered a reputation for dynamic, engaging and humorous seminars and presentations and have delivered papers at conferences domestically and internationally. I am currently the Managing Director of OneOrganic Byron Bay via my company TUFY Pty Ltd and am focused on building this business in the sustainable living space because I believe that nutritional food is preventative medicine and that the world must head in this direction for human survival. I also think that older persons should be providing strong ethical role models for younger peeps.
