Based In Eastbourne

Starting in Seaford whilst the industry was still nationalised, I moved to Eastbourne in April 1991 before formal training had commenced. I have remained at Eastbourne throughout a number of company changes and restructuring, mostly to do with privatisation. I was on a committee who oversaw changes in antiquated working conditions whilst liaising with both management and Unions. I have also been involved in starting and running of a successful social club which organises and funds staff Christmas parties and several children's activities throughout the year including a pantomime visit.Over the years I have also undertaken a number of training courses, most recently was a Coaching course (L12). I also have a City&Guilds Customer Service qualification.

My wife and I ran a busy newsagents as a team, where, in addition to the usual CTN business there were both morning and evening newspaper deliveries.

I was one of a team of Relief Managers who circulated around all the stores as required. I covered for holidays, sickness and sometimes as a temporary manager whilst a full-time replacement was sought. When not doing this I would assist the Area Manager in his tasks
