Having graduated as a Civil Engineer and starting out in major contracting, it was my roles with Texaco and Atkins that have really shaped my career. I worked with both Texaco (now Chevron Texaco) and Atkins (on the Shell PMC account) in senior roles for over 20 years. And, in 2009, I formed Wyeth Projects Services with my business partner Barry Wyeth, where we specialised in project management and value engineering processes, predominantly - but not exclusively - in the retail petroleum sector.I am first and foremost a 'deliverer'. Complex project management is my forte and, with my experience in the retail petroleum sector means that I understand the complexities of multi-site roll out programmes, where value management and value engineering concepts are primary drivers.Career highlights to date include representing Texaco at the Cabinet Office in the 2001 fuel crisis; delivering Texaco's Y2K programme; being responsible for building the first western-style filling station in Kazakhstan (in temperatures of -30 degrees!); and successfully bringing the (dificult) Nordics into the Shell PMC programme. From 2006 to 2015, my work at Wyeth focused on the retail petroleum sector and value management processes.

Shell European Pmc ProjectAtkins Nov 2005 - Dec 2008Working with Atkins on the Shell PMC project, I was involved in setting up the Sweden and Denmark PMC services, running a European motorway revitalisation project and coordinating H&S and Design workshops. My primary responsibility was for the technical coordination of projects and country support; however during the process of country establishment, I was involved in substantial performance issues and commercial negotiations with both suppliers and the customer. The challenges involved with a diverse client base and project teams, were large, coupled with the fact that I was often “parachuted in” at short notice to problem solve. -
Project Manager - Shell Pmc AccountAtkins Sep 2003 - Nov 2005On joining Atkins I became part of the UK PMC team as a regional project manager covering the NW of the UK. After my initial period I spent most next 18 months either working as a project manager in the SE, or covering and training new regional project managers in Scotland and the NE. During this time I also supported the UK team leader with technical and industry challenges, becoming the specialist in new ideas and innovation and challenging the industry and contractors to delivery sites faster; an outcome of this was the successful introduction of prefabricated fuel systems that cut down site construction periods. I also gained a reputation of being able to deliver the “difficult sites”. -
Manager European EngineeringChevron Texaco Oct 2001 - Sep 2003As one of the ChevronTexaco Asset Management Leadership Team, I had extensive responsibilities across the whole downstream / retail petroleum sector; for engineering, construction, maintenance and facilities management. The main highlight for me was the successful integration of the European engineering team working, which formed into a well balanced, cohesive, fully-functioning team. In addition we delivered the consolidation of all European maintenance contracts into one European outsourced provider. I was also a member of the crisis management team and was on short-notice standby to manage 'situations'; for example, I represented Texaco in the Cabinet Offices (COBRA) during the 2001 fuel crisis.
