Worked as the official statistician for TBS in 2020 and FOX Sports in 2022 during the Major League Baseball playoffs. The TBS position entailed a two-week commitment during the pandemic for the American League Division and Championship Series. Two years later, I worked for FOX Sports during the National League Division and Chasmpionship Series.
Coordinate statistics with production trucks as the lead statistician in San Diego for all Seals home games.
Greater San Diego Area
It's my responsibility to make certain the television announcers and production truck have all the statistics necessary during a Major League Baseball game. This includes pitch counts, batting with runners in scoring position, where the runners are on base, defensive changes, on deck batters, pitchers warming up in the bullpen, etc. We must have everything immediately correct so that the broadcast runs smoothly.
I'm responsible for relaying statistical information to the lead announcer and production truck for Major League Baseball, college football and college basketball events. When necessary, I'll also serve as the spotter on selected broadcasts.

Worked as the lead statistician for the NCAA Regional and Sweet 16 college basketball postseason tournaments
Served as the statistician for the international feed of the World Baseball Classic in 2017
My major responsibility is to execute a total media relations campaign by utilizing both the Internet and traditional media. As part of this, I create content on a daily basis and post more than 1,000 story links annually to various websites. This job also has me create, manage and evaluate a robust marketing research effort by surveying current students both in the classroom and through the Internet. I also review and track all of the social media postings that mention our College. In addition, I maintain an alliance with SDSU media relations personnel to create synergistic opportunities for Extended Studies within the campus community.
This was a multi-task job; part writer and part editor. My writing covered such topics as education, healthcare, politics (specifically the El Cajon City Council), features on the backcountry, and sports. I also organized and planned the stories each week for the Alpine Sun and the East County Californian.
This job included a variety of writing tasks. My main beats were healthcare, covering city councils, education, the courthouse and sports. Seems the sports guys always need an extra body on Friday nights to help cover the preps ... and that 10th man was me! This job helped prepare me to become an editor.
There's nothing like being to work at 3:30 a.m. to write and help produce a 5-9 a.m. radio newscast. Those days were fun; the time went by very quickly on the job. I was fortunate (and not so fortunate) to cover such stories as the Rolling Stones in San Diego, the Heaven's Gate tragedy in Rancho Santa Fe and numerous court stories. It was great experience for someone switching from a sports to news background.
This was my first experience with a wire service. I worked the night desk primarily and edited stories to be sent locally, statewide, nationally and internationally. Working here really helped me understand how a wire service like the Associated Press operates. I have been a stringer for AP since 1987 and still enjoy it!
I wrote and edited the Business, Home and Auto sections. In addition, I helped out the sports guys whenever needed.
This job was multi-tasking (at a time when "multi-tasking" was an unknown term.) I spent about half of my time working the desk, editing stories, taking phone calls, etc. The other half was spent covering prep sports, San Diego State sports and whatever other territory needed to be covered.
I covered Major League Baseball, the NFL, the NBA and various college sports.
