Marketing, Communications, Strategic Development and Government Relations - Directed all media, electronic and print communications, community relations, marketing, research, strategic planning, grants development and administration, technology development, fare policy and technology, inter-agency relations, state and federal legislative affairs, and contractors related to above responsibilites. During the decade, ridership doubled, fare revenue grew 225%, and new capital grants exceeded $550 million.

Metro System Integration - Created new department to lead Metro inter-agency coordination of programs and policy development. Responsibilities included: advanced fare collection / smart bus integration, Metrolink agency liaison, smart fare card development on 5 transit agencies,regional transportation policy coordination between 5 county transportation commissions and the Southern California Association of Governments, and Inter-city rail development and governance planning.Area Teams - Created the position, led two of the five area teams. Responsible for multi-modal planning, program and project development and administration, funding, and project-related public affairs on project management for highways, transit, rail development, local assistance, transportation demand management, ITS, grants administration and inter-governmental relations.

Created and managed new department to provide stakeholder communications, public outreach and public participation in support of new intiatives made possible by the passage of Proposition A, the 1/2-cent sales for transportation in LA County. Administered three simultaneous EIR projects, outreach for the first two HOV lanes in the county, co-authored the first highway strategic plan and first ITS project, served as lead staff for the Citizens' Advisory Committee and Elderly and Disabled Technical Advisory Committee.

First full-time Executive Director of newly-formed chamber of commerce. Founder / publisher / managing editor of several community and trade association publications, including: Century City News, Century City Guide, area maps and two bi-weekly realtor trade newspapers. Initiated and staged numerous major civic events ranging from nationally-televised policy luncheons to art festivals, 10-K runs, trade shows, business forums and executive seminars. Represented Century City in transportation and land use negotiations and entitlement processes ranging from building permitting to specific plans, subway development and improvment of Santa Monica Boulevard.
