Professor Of Animation/Independent Filmmaker
CurrentStarting this fall I'll be laying track for a new animation program at CMU. So after 12 years at HU it looks like I get to start all over again! There's a lot I'm going to miss about Huntington (Bryan, Josh and a great bunch of students) but I can't deny that I'm looking forward to working alongside the artists at CMU.

I've been teaching animation off and on for almost twenty years now but have spent the last 11 helping to build a media department at Huntington University in Indiana. This gives me the time and financial stability to continue working on my own films. . . at least that's the plan. My specialties are stop-motion animation, all forms of traditional media, story, layout, producing/directing...and Toonboom when I can't avoid it. 3D Layout Supervisor/Interum Studio Manager

During my time at Big Idea I worked closely with the head of IT, Henry Vera, to help organize the production work flow. From there I was instrumental in the creation and implementation of the 3D Layout Department. 3D Layout's first official production began in 1998 with "Larryboy and the Rumor Weed" and in three short years we had matured enough to withstand the full-length feature production of "Jonah; A VeggieTales Movie". Between 1999 and 2000 a handful of studio supervisors took on the responsibilities of Interim studio management while we searched for a new Vice President of Production. At the end of a very long search we were fortunate enough to bring Dan Phillips on board from Dreamworks.
