Director of Technology oversees all the Engineering, IT infrastructures and Technology staff of the Television stations. Responsible for the day to day operations of the Technical Plant as well as the Transmitter Facilities. At present KLTV/KTRE have 5 TV air channels. 2-HD(ABC) 3-SD(Telemundo and Bounce). HD Master Control and HD Production Control. All Programming originates in Tyler and is Distributed to both KLTV and KTRE Transmitters sites. We are using Crispin Automation with Omneon Playout Servers for our Master Control.We are using Imagine(Harris) Selenio Encoders to send our signals to the Transmitters. We have 2 Harris VHF Platinum Transmitters at both Transmitters sites. We us Evertz Switcher and Routers as well as Snell and Wilcox Terminal Gear. At present we have 5 Engineering/IT Professional in our Technology Department as well as a Master control supervisor and 4 full time and 1 part time MCO Operators. We maintain all the IT and Engineering needs at both KLTV in Tyler Texas as well as KTRE in Lufkin Texas where we have a full News Production staff as well as a sales staff.

As Engineering supervisor I am responsible for the day to day activities of the TV station. Repair and maintain all analog and digtal equipment required to operate a Class A Televison station. We also maintain 2 full Power Digital Transmitters as well as ENG Microwave and Eng and SNG Trucks. We are presently switching 5 channels here at KLTV. 2HD and 3SD channels with a new HD Master control automated with Crispin software Omneon Play out servers and Evertz switch gear. We have built a new state of the art Newsroom and Studio.

Staff Engineer.Worked as Engineer on Installation and repair of AM. FM and Low Power Televison stations.

Transfered to KETK from sister station KLSB. later was promoted to Director of engineering responsible for 2 Full Power UHF Televison stations and 2 Low Power televison stations. Responsibilities included supervising Engineering and Operations Departments. budgeting, Maintaining Transmitter and Studio facilities, Microwaves systems, ENG Trucks

As Chief Engineer i was responsible for Day to Day activities of the Technical operations of the Station. Maintaining both a Studio and Transmitter facilities. Duties included supervising the Operations and Master control departments as well as the engineering staff. Responsible for Capital budgets of the engineering department and the Operting Budgets of the Engineering department.

Started as an Installer of Mobile Two-Way Radios and Repeaters. Promoted to Service Manager and filed Manager for Two- Way Paging and Repeaters systems throughout East Texas. Installed first Motorola 800 mhz trunked system in East Texas which lead to system throughout the Eastern part of the state between Houston and Dallas.Worked with many state and local governments implementing and installing radio systems throughout the entire state.
