Moreover, I had to maintain cutting-edge knowledge of pedagogical methodology which underpins quality teaching and learning in order to provide the staff with the best CPD. As well as training staff personally, I also arranged for one of my favourite educational writers, Leah Kirkman; author of Talk-less Teaching and Pimp My Lesson, to run a very well-received INSET.

Developed my knowledge of teaching, learning and assessment. I became a coach largely on the strengths of my mentoring expertise. I am a qualified mentor for Initial Teacher Training students after passing the course at Manchester Metropolitan University. I successfully coached several colleagues in a supportive and positive fashion to help develop their classroom practice and pass the coaching programme through observations and meetings. I delivered INSETs on the following: growth mindset psychology, lean learning, edpuzzle, behaviour management and SMART target setting; helping large groups of teachers to simultaneously improve their teaching. I produced a half-termly teaching newsletter which spreads new pedagogical ideas throughout the college by sharing articles, videos, handouts, posters and websites on contemporary educational techniques. I was heavily involved in the teaching and learning pods at the Cheadle & Marple campuses, leading sessions and encouraging colleagues’ self-reflection and sharing their best practice. I was in charge of rolling out the innovative VESPA strategy amongst staff and several tutor groups at The Cheadle College.
