I'm the only mechanical engineer on board and my day revolves around getting all our concepts of the physical bits of the digital hourly diuresis system that we're developing into the real world; and the more challenging of my duties, getting those concepts to actually work in the real world...Over the last three years a lot of attention has been paid.

My role at the engineering consultancy e3k was varied, to say the least. e3k takes on the most *diverse* array of jobs. During my time there I helped with the development of an energy use analysis system for a mine, an ingenious fluidic system for leveling of tables (See www.flattech.com), and a clever little device for helping sufferers of gate freezing.

This was a continuation of my honours thesis, except I was paid! While I was here I worked mostly on developing models for plywood deformation based on grain orientation of the individual layers.
