Working at Brother’s European headquarters in Manchester, I was responsible for the day to day management of Brother’s range of Inkjet Multifunction Printers. I was the primary point of contact for any product related enquiries from the various business divisions within Brother, including, Sales, Marketing, Communications and Support. My primary responsibility was to provide software and network support for the Brother offices around Europe. One of the main duties of the role involved training the Brother offices around the world. This involved using a variety of delivery methods including classroom based instructor led courses, as well as online training courses using a web based training tool. I was responsible for the creation of all training materials, including presentations and accompanying workbook documentation. Training was delivered to a diverse range of individuals, ranging from technical support staff to sales representatives. During this time I also achieved Microsoft and Linux Professional qualifications. In this role, I was primarily responsible for the creation of technical documentation that supported Brother products. This involved, writing User Guides, which are then distributed with the products. I was also responsible, for writing online help documents in HTML format, using Macromedia Dreamweaver, Flash, Photoshop and Fireworks. This information was then published on the Brother website. This was a challenging role, which involved working to tight deadlines, liaising with colleagues in Brother offices around the world, ensuring that the documentation created, was suitable for the specific field that it was distributed to. Key responsibilities included:• Writing support documentation that was issued with Brother products• Creating online help information for the Brother website.

Required to analyse and interpret data from a variety of sources and create user guides and manuals for use by branch staff and also by users in Barclays largest helpdesk. The main responsibility was to create procedure and self help guides for branch equipment and applications. An interesting project that I worked on for 3 months involved setting up an Intranet site to enable branch staff to access user guides and manuals online. This provided invaluable experience as it enabled me to gain an understanding of HTML. I would also act as a deputy in the Team Leaders absence, acting as a focal point for any technical queries.
