Exciting new opportunity to bring the GIS and IT skills that I have picked up over the past 13 years to a new company. IT at a utility company runs from supporting telemetry and a vast number of legacy vendor products on down "I can't login," and "How do I print this on letterhead."My goals for this GIS are a bunch of wonky-sounding projects like tighter CMMS integration, inspection and work orders field integrations, as well as making some pretty maps.

I make maps! Though these days that is a very small part of my life as geographic data is served to people and other systems in such a wide variety of ways. I also do IT work and maintain computer networks.

I was a GIS and AutoCAD nut. They nicknamed me 'Button Monkey'. This was the job where I really developed my GIS interests. A large part of my job was CAD to GIS translation and later, implementing ArcGIS 8.0 (Yes, I am old enough to say that I actually performed production work in Arc View 3.2).As a consultant, beautiful glossy maps and graphics are what sells. This job was great for developing my eye for the aesthetic as well as the utilitarian value of underlying geographic data.
