I supervise the payroll processing for approximately 8,000 multi-state employees across the country, including California, and two locations in Canada. The team includes one payroll lead and 6 specialists. I have improved procedures and controls within the department, reducing the amount of payroll related errors from 10% to less than half a percent, greatly reducing off cycle payments to employees. I have developed processes to efficiently manage union benefit payments to over 40 different local union affiliates. We are currently converting all of our systems to the ADP PayForce platform. I perform audits to ensure SOX compliance within the department. In this position I have gained experience using the following software: Millennium, TimeForce, Mastermind, and ADP PayForce.

I supervised the activities of three payroll supervisors and six payroll specialists that processed payroll for twelve multi-state sites, paying approximately 10,000 employees. I worked with the accounting department providing system reports while helping them to reconcile payroll related items including 401k iscrimination testing and SOX compliance. I also worked with the information systems team to develop several query tools to extract information from our PeopleSoft and ADP databases. I was responsible for converting several new company acquisitions to West’s payroll systems. This required traveling to the acquired company’s location, learning the existing processes and software applications in order to take over immediate payroll processing. Once payroll was brought in house, we transitioned to West’s systems where I gained experience using PeopleSoft, ADP PCPW, Kronos, and ReportSmith. I am also very proficient in Excel, Access, and Word. I earned the West Best award twice; once in 2007 and again in 2008 for performance excellence.

Recruited, trained, and developed team members to deliver excellent customer service. Prepared and reconciled daily bank deposits. Utilizing the monthly P&L statement, audited receiving invoices and vendor credits for accuracy. Conducted store inventories and daily cycle counts to ensure accurate inventory balances.
