I am a Senior Solutions Architect within the Datacenter/Hybrid DC team and work alongside the sales teams in the UK and Europe in helping to provide solutions to customers, ranging from small to Enterprise class clients in both Private and Public Sectors.This has typically been engagement with a sales specialist (S3) and sales person, to understand the client requirement, on-site visits if required, and then full solution design, including cost models, presentations, proposals, SoW and deployment models, which are then worked on with the team to be presented to the client. This could include client face-to-face presentation and Q&A sessions to go over the solution and cost benefits/ROI.With the recent IT industry trend toward HCI platforms I have been a subject matter expert on HCI design and implementation, and have been the Consultant for a large CNC machine tool manufacturer, in their deployment of a European wide 13 site vSAN platform. This has then lead onto a large number of other HCI platforms for which I am seen as the lead SA, combining technologies from our leading vendors as conventional CI requirements have been overtaken by mixed HCI/CI platforms.During my time here, I have been instrumental in defining documentation standards and a formal way of working with the sales team to ensure we fully meet the requirements of the clients. Part of my responsibilities include being the lead technical point of contact for vendors such as HPE, Veritas and Dell, and have I been responsible for these improved partnerships. I also attend partnership events with a number of key vendors around in and Europe, helping to maintain and improve these relationships.

I have been forfilling a solution architect roll at Williamhill in Leeds on a contract for the last 3 months, and am now moving back into a perm roll at Insigh UK, based in sheffield

I have providing professional services to multiple clients within the UK government and health services as well as private companies such as SKY, including virtualisation, storage, networking and systems design. I have spent the last 3 years support a private supplier to the NHS, supporting ¼ of the UK population for the booking and processing medical test procedures such as MRI, X-Ray and Breast Screening etc. This was comprised of a Private Cloud environment based on VMware, SAN replication and full DC fail-over.

I started work here as a mobile Systems Engineer spending time visiting client sites to install and configure hardware/software solutions for clients such as Novell NetWare and Microsoft. This developed into a full blown consultancy roll where I was the Principal Consultant of a team of approximately 28 Consultants, a team of 50 odd System Engineers, and a larger team of Desktop/Deployment Engineers, typically involved in full life cycle project deliver to leading UK companies such as Manchester Airport, GUS, banks and building societies in Chester. I was also heavily involved with the Marketing function running many customer facing events to the top clients of Rockliff who morphed into IKON as it was taken over. This involved exposure to the IKON office business machines part of there business in connected fax/photo copiers and networking printing.
