Beacon Hill Village, www.beaconhillvillage.org, was founded in 2001. It purpose is helping aging members stay in their own homes as long as they can and wish to. BHV helps members obtain the services they need to stay independent and has a monthly calendar of activities designed by BHV members themselves to entertain, amuse, and strengthen ties among those members. Now celebrating its 10th anniversary, Beacon Hill Village has inspired nearly 60 other operating villages throughout the United States and abroad, and hundreds more planning soon to operate. BHV offers startup and management advice to all these villages with its DC-area partner NCB-Capital Impact, through their jointly-owned not-for-profit, the Village-to-Village Network, www.vtvnetwork.org.
