Established in 1941, the BPMA is the UK Trade Association representing the interests of the UK manufacturers of liquid pumps.Since January 2013 I have taken over the position of Director and Chief Executive. Whilst I am responsible for the profit and loss of the BPMA I have continued to maintain strong links with the BPMA’s Technical, Training, IT, Standards, legislative and energy related activities.Since joining the BPMA I have been actively involved in many of the European Commission energy programmes such as “Pump SAVE”, “Motor Challenge”, “ProMot” and “DEXA.In 2000-2002 I was actively involved in the working group, which produced the international guide on Pump Life Cycle Costing. In 2003 I worked with Future Energy Solutions to produce the Best Practice Guide on Variable Speed Pumps and then subsequently took on the task of secretary for producing the international guide for Variable Speed Pumping. In 2005 I again took on the task of secretary to produce the international guide for System Efficiency in Rotodynamic Pumping Systems.In the UK for many years I have worked closely with DEFRA , DECC and the UK Government on the implementation of a Pump System Assessment scheme. In 2010 through the BPMA introduced the Certified Pump System Auditor Scheme and became the convenor for the ISO TC 115 Pump System Assessment Standard (ISO 14414) . I have given papers on energy related issues in the UK, Europe, USA , South Africa , Singapore , Japan and Australia. Prior to joining the BPMA in 1998 I worked in the Pump Industry for 23 years having held appointments with Mather & Platt/ Weir Pumps, Durco/Flowserve and latterly Hayward Tyler.Specialties: Energy Reduction within Pumping Systems
