The British Pump Manufacturers' Association (BPMA) is a trade association representing the interests of UK suppliers of liquid pumps and pumping equipment. BPMA's prime mission is to influence the business environment in the interests of the competitiveness and profitability of the UK Pump Industry through a range of services including commercial, marketing, technical, environmental, educational and energy together with regular meetings of members. BPMA members are the leading companies in the field of pumping technology in the UK with a commitment to product quality and development, value for money, safety and after sales service. BPMA members account for approximately 85% of the £900 million plus UK market for pumps and in addition are net exporters.

In 1996 I moved to Hayward Tyler to manage the internal and external sales force of 6 staff representing the water and petrochemical industry. During this period I travelled extensively throughout the Middle East, South Africa, Canada and the USA .Again I was responsible for establishing sales plans, monitoring SG & A budgets, recommending policies and programmes and procedures to senior management . During my first year the team increased sales by over 30%. During the second year I was approached to take the position within the BPMA.

In 1990 I was promoted to sales manager and relocated from the North West of England to the South . Within this role I managed seven Field Sales Engineers. I trained motivated and controlled the sales force to ensure the attainment of sales objectives. I established sales plans, monitored SG & A budgets, recommended policies, programmes and procedures and ensured that all necessary marketing information on customers and competition was gathered and kept up to date.In 1995 I increased sales by 31% on the previous year after introducing a customer agreement plan for key customers. In 1994 I increased sales by 7% on the previous year.During 1992 - 1993 I introduced a key and target structure to maximise resources and maintain market share.During 1991 - 1992 I introduced a system, which focused the sales force and increased sales by 24% on the previous year.
