Steve Sepp, born in 1954, holds a M.Sc. in Tropical and Subtropical Forestry and obtained his Ph.D. in forest economics from Ernst August University in Goettingen (Germany). As post-graduate student at the Berlin Institute for Rural Development (SLE), he laid the foundation for his subsequent career in development cooperation. He assumed long-term assignments for FAO and GIZ, and was CTA of the World Bank supported Household Energy Project in Chad. He conducted more than 80 short-term missions mostly in the field of sustainable forest management and wood energy. In 1992, he was among the founding team of ECO Consulting Group, and has since served continuously as executive director of the company.
