He is recognized for guiding organizations to optimize (1) outcomes and safety, (2) operational efficiencies, (3) financial performance (4) stakeholder satisfaction, with 30+ years of experience. He has testified before the legislatures for 4 States in the U.S. and advised 13 foreign governments and organizations in Europe, Asia, America and Australia. Steve has presented 200+ papers and has 200+ peer-reviewed publications and technical reports, and two books. Steve served on the 15-member team that authored and piloted the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award for Health Care. He is a Professor at the Center for Policy and Public Administration and at Zayed University (UAE), and has lectured at Harvard, UCLA, Columbia, Westminster, University of Utah, Westminster College, and Cambridge universities, among others.Steve holds two masters degrees and doctorates in Research Methods and Applied Statistics and in Business Administration. Steve is a former Dir Data Mgmt and Analysis for Intermountain Health Care (SLC). He was pivotal in establishing the quality and performance initiatives for several complex multi-hospital systems including Hawaii Pacific Health and Kaleida Health. Steve is now back as Principal Outcomes Consultant with Allscripts. Steve has worked with hundreds of recognized organizations, including 3 years of service as the Special Asst to the Pres of Coca-Cola.
