Currently support several industries for nonlinear mechanical simulations in ANSYS, including aerospace, orthopedic, and automotive. Developed methods for integrating fatigue test data with the use of FEA to characterize Coffin-Manson-Basquin strain-based fatigue in materials with a specified confidence level (using statistics to drive this process). Taught ANSYS Dynamics classes over the last five years, and have utilized dynamics simulation to characterize fatigue response in large lithium battery support systems. Worked for an orthopedic product groups to develop simulation of a full gait response in a knee system, measure micro-motion, and have used thermal simulation to characterize deformation response in medical refrigeration devices.

Support for motor, alternator, and hybrid motor development. Worked on projects to reduce casting mass, determine dynamic response of entire motor / alternator systems, and some interesting projects in clutch design, fatigue of nose housings, etc.

Analysis for alternator product engineering, working on tough issues with 36th order vibration, as well as fatigue, and dynamics. Developed methods for modeling dynamic response of structurally complicated parts, such as stator laminations with windings, and rotors, using measured physical response to drive this process.

Alternator Plant - Albany GA. Responsible for CS144 rotor and stator assembly, bridge assembly, lamination stamping and final assembly, and such processes as varnish ovens, welders, progressive dies, torque equipment, rotor winding, statistical process controls, rotor balancing, rotor segment staking, bridge soldering oven and assembly. Developed tooling for various assembly line stations, and supported hourly production.

Delco Remy Division - alternator design and simulation; stress and deflection analysis of components and simple assemblies.
