Developed the mechanical design for the MiSeq personal sequencing instrument with a large engineering team. Responsibilities included the mechanical design of the system computer, front bezel assembly and PR2/waste bottle mechanism and module. Contributed in the reduction in COGS defining lower cost manufacturing processes for many instrument parts.Developed the mechanical design for the cBot, a fully automated clonal cluster generation sequencer with a small engineering team. Responsibilities included the mechanical design of the system layout, skins, flow cell manifold and fluidics delivery system, waste bottle and barcode modules.

Developed the console architecture of the newest ophthalmic product the NovusSRT.Developed the console architecture for LightSheer Duet a product that removes hair permanently utilizing a diode laser system to burn hair follicles and vacuum to maximize exposure of the treatment area.Developed the initial design of Aluma product. A hair removal device that utilizes RF.Enhanced the design of the new high speed hair removal hand piece. Many aspects of product development are involved including injection molded plastics, sheet metal, machined parts, cooling and vacuum systems, pcb assemblies, laser optic systems. Awarded 3 design patents, Skin treatment handpiece, Optical element holder, Disposable tip.

Designed an array of products for the consumer and commercial market place.Products include Desktop and Rack mount server chassis', Wireless Router, Portable Air Purifier, Golf Platform TrainerAssist clients in the prototype development selecting vendors and suppliers along with managing the products cost of goods.Currently using both Pro Engineer and SolidWorks for product development. This is based on each clients requests or needs.

Developed the -48 Volt DC Power Entry Module for the E600 server chassis.Designed an innovative low cost PCB mounted Buss bar system for reduced cost and to reduce internal line noise for the DC Power Entry Module.Designed system upgrades for new PCB mechanicals, carriers and custom heat sinks.Redesigned the current cable management system for high volume manufacturing and for multiple configurations.

Managed and developed a 19-inch rack mount internet server chassis.Designed the system architecture, PCB outlines, defined connector and component placement.Selected suppliers, components and specified materials.Managed and contracted outside services including industrial design, thermal analysis, prototyping, environmental testing, safety agency approval, UL certification.Created and maintained proper documentation and revision control for product release.
